Elegant and classy with a mother of pearl chain detail trim on the crown, this sun hat provides moderate 3.25” sun coverage at the front and tapers off to 2” on the back (see images for detail), making this a great lounging hat! The mother of pearl trim adds an elegant accent to enliven your travel pictures and can dress up even the most casual of outfits without being overpowering. We enjoy wearing ours with a white coverup or sundress whilst hanging out at the beach or checking out shops in a new resort town. The quality and sturdiness of the straw is amazing as well so it will last. Be gentle with the mother of pearl detail however, as that can be broken with rough handling (and removed if so without ruining the hat).
These are made in both sizes M (fits most standard women’s heads up to 57cm) as well an XL size with an adjustable inner drawstring so the XL size could be made to fit from a 58cm-61cm size head comfortably. We recommend that you pack it with socks/undies in the crown to maintain its shape in your luggage or wear it on the plane to start your vacay early!
Most orders are shipped out same day or within 24 business hours from our warehouse in San Diego, California. We do not process orders on weekends.
In very rare cases, 1% of the time, we get customers that email us stating they have not received their order after it has been posted as "Delivered" by USPS/selected carrier. In most of these cases, the postal courier has placed the package inside the mailbox (rather than the front door) as many of our packages are in mailers and not boxes. If you have not received your package and it has been posted as delivered in tracking, please check your mailbox first, then contact the courier directly as only they can connect you with the courier that delivered or marked delivered the package. Unfortunately, we have no control of USPS or the package once it leaves us so if it has been marked as delivered we must take USPS's word that it has been. If you contact them we have never had an unresolved issue of it still being missing.
We find that most of our customers receive their purchases within 3-5 business days of processing. We ship standard orders using USPS First Class Mail.
Expedited shipping cost varies for domestic US shipping destinations. Expedited shipping typically takes up to 4 business days to arrive. Please note if there is an unexpected delay we will contact you. Feel free to email us if you have questions about your specific order or need it by a certain day so we can best accommodate you.
Also, please note, with UPS 3-day select, it sometimes takes longer than 3 days for package to arrive. Same thing with UPS 2nd day air. Both shipping methods are widely used and popular. However, please be aware that we do not have control over the carrier shipping times.
International Orders are welcomed. Shipping charges default to carrier charges which are presented during the checkout process. You will be prompted to select the most suitable option between all available carriers.

Lastly, please note that you will be responsible for any customs/VAT/duties, if applicable, at the time of delivery. In many cases, if a consumer refuses to pay the taxes associated with the transaction it gets rejected and sent back to us. We would not refund the shipping charges we incurred if a package is rejected for nonpayment of duties/taxes owed.
Customs, duties and other fees assessed by the destination country for an item can NOT be paid to the United States Postal Service® when the item is mailed. The recipient of the mailpiece is the only one who can pay the customs fees.
All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and assessment of duties, taxes, and fees in accordance with that country's national laws (this fee is also collected in the United States on inbound international items). Customs duties and taxes are assessed, generally, if the item sent is dutiable and if the value of the item is above the threshold set by the country's laws. Each country assesses customs, duties, and taxes. Check the World Customs Organization website for general information, or visit the website of that country's customs service.
It is important to understand that, if duties and taxes are assessed on an item mailed via the Postal Service™, they are collected from the recipient. Postage is charged to cover the expense of delivery only. Postage does not cover charges assessed by customs in the destination country.
At Sungrubbies returns are easy! Use our return label to postmark your return within 15 days of the delivery date, and we'll cover the cost of your return shipping! All items will be inspected and must be in their original condition with tags attached, no stains or signs of wear, and in the packaging or similar packaging as they were delivered (please do not stuff our hats in smaller packages or destroy them, all damaged merchandise will not be accepted). If you are outside the 15 day free return window but within 30 days of item receipt, you can still ship the item(s) back to us directly through your carrier of choice at:

Great hat for everyday wear!
On 5/4/2020, I order this hat as part of a BOGO deal. I was informed you were out of this hat but that it was in stock at your fulfillment center and I could still get the hat but the shipment would be delayed because of COVID-19. I agreed to wait & you shipped the other hat that was part of the deal. The first hat arrived with a plastic insert to assure the hat kept it's shape and in a box so that it was not crushed during shipment. I inquired about the back ordered hat on 6/11 and was told you were still waiting on the hat to be shipped from the fulfillment center. I understood. On 6/26/2020, I went to your website and went thru the process of ordering this hat again in order to see if the hat was in stock. Much to my surprise, the hat was in stock. I'm still unsure as to why my hat had not been shipped. So, I emailed again and asked about my hat. I was offered a $20 refund. I wanted my hat! Finally, you shipped my hat later that day and I received it on 7/6/2020. This is what got you the poor rating---My hat was in a plastic bag, crushed, with no plastic insert to help it hold it's shape. The beaded band was heaped in the bottom of the bag, no longer attached to the hat. I was very patient with Sungrubbies and really think I deserved better. Shame on you!
I am so happy my hat finally came and it fits perfectly. I have such difficulty finding hats that fit me and this one is super cute. The length of time it took the company to ship was frustrating and it was a struggle to get a response from them for a while. It seems their distribution was badly affected by COVID-19, which is understandable. Will definitely give them another try in the future.
Love the fit and style of this hat. However, the hat shows a seashell hatband. My hat came with NO seashell hatband. I can see the dabs of glue where the band should be attached. Will you be able to send the hatband? I would love to give a 5 STAR review. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
