This straw sun hat is hand-woven by farmers in Ecuador and acquired through long-established networks of regional hat markets. The Panama Hat is made of unbleached straw, avoiding the toxic by-products of chlorine bleaching. Very light (4 oz.) and soft. This wide brim sun hat provides stylish sun protection with minimal impact on our environment while providing an economic incentive to keep the rainforests standing and income for the local people.
