This is the best baseball cap we have found for winter sports. I've used it downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and walking my dog. Marta, our owner, wore it snowboarding and loved it. I wore it during a blizzard at -4 degrees. The balaclava up around my face protected me from ice crystals and the sun at 10,000 feet on the mountain. As a San Diego temperature wuss, who spends a lot of time in the lower Rockies, I'll be wearing it for many winters to come.
We have asked the manufacturer to get the fabric rated for sun protection but so far no luck. We are told polartec can rate from 15 to 40 UPF.
