UVA rays are still in full force all day and all through the winter months. And, cold weather does not decrease the amount of UV rays you receive. Wearing a wide brimmed sun hat in the winter not only provides UV protection, but it can also have the advantage of keeping the snow, sleet and rain out of your eyes and from going down your back. Winter hats have typically not been looked to for sun protection, so some of the hats below have not been sent to an independent laboratory for their UPF rating. We hope to get more winter hat manufacturers on the bandwagon soon:)
